With a Surface you’ll be able to simply double click the eraser on your stylus, and OneNote will open automatically for you. This is perfect for people who use a tablet, or better yet, a Microsoft Surface. OneNote has no drawing controls on its mobile app, but you will see all the drawing controls available in the Windows app. Obviously, these controls are available on other smartphones, but you’ll have to make do with your finger. Those with a Galaxy Note device, for example, will love the fact that they can draw on a note in Evernote with their stylus. However, different people will have different devices. Fitbit Versa 3īoth offer pretty much the same sort of controls. OneNote is the only note-taking app that I know of capable of doing something like this. There is a menu with complex formulas that you can further explore to help with your work and research. Just type equal to (=) sign at the end followed by Enter key and OneNote will solve it on the fly. You can solve simple equations by simply typing them inside a note. OneNote comes with serious mathematical prowess. OneNote doesn’t have a sidebar so you have to go in and out of notebooks to move around. It is easier to jump between folders, notes, and tags. Evernote’s mobile app is more refined and offers a better user experience thanks to a sidebar menu.
In spite of similarities, there are plenty of differences between Evernote and OneNote. A OneNote team member said that they are working on the ability to add tags to notes in a Reddit AMA.
You can also move these containers, and all information inside it, anywhere and across sections and pages. Instead of tagging notes, you can tag these individual containers inside a note. This is helpful when you want to present data side by side. It doesn’t have to start from a new line on the left. You can type almost anywhere inside a OneNote note. Where OneNote differs is how it is structured and how it functions.
